Dunia Miralles

Switzerland
Writer

Dunia Miralles was born in Switzerland. In 2000, Baleine published Swiss Trash, her first novel. In 2015, Inertie won the Bibliomedia Prize. In 2023, she tackled borderline personality disorder in Le Baiser d'Anubia and bullying at school in Le Gouffre du Cafard.

In June 2024, thanks to a grant from the Association Neuchâteloise pour la Création Littéraire (ANCL), Caravelles du Seyon was published by Alphil. This story takes a hopeful and joyful look at Spanish immigration in the 1960s and 1970s.

Dunia Miralles has been selected for the inaugural residency in Winterthur. The writer, born in 1963, will use her stay to overcome the language barrier by immersing herself in and familiarizing herself with Swiss German. This experience with the language and the city, as well as the diary she will keep about it, will result in a literary work for which she already has a publisher in mind.

The residency is kindly supported by Die Stiftung Winterthur - La Chaux-de-Fonds.
