Director

I am able to bring many of my previous professional and life
experiences to my role as director of the Villa Sträuli; my
work here is extremely varied and exciting on many levels,
and it is a job I do with great pleasure. It is wonderful having
my place of work in the beautiful rooms of the Villa Sträuli,
and I enjoy tackling a new project, developing it, and bringing
it to fruition with like-minded colleagues (a fantastic team
and supportive board). I love it when art, culture, and people
from all over the world constitute the centre of my work and
when our offerings are capable of opening new perspectives
in a whole host of ways.

Truth be told, Winterthur without the offerings of the Villa
Sträuli is something I can no longer imagine.
The Villa Sträuli’s Kultursalon has something of a big city
feel about it, and the different artists living and working in
the Villa bring a taste of the wide world to Winterthur.

Barbara Ocusono Barbara Ocusono

Box Office, Administration

I have been on the go with music and movement since my
earliest childhood days. After a semester-long rhythm
seminar I knew I wanted to pursue a career as a therapist.
Music and movement, painting and textile craft have
continued to accompany me in my life path, but as leisure
activities. Currently my professional spectrum is broadening
into new areas. I work in my practice as a body therapist,
on-call caregiver, particularly with brain-injured people.
I love Winterthur as a cultural centre because I am always
in the thick of the goings-on: culture is bubbling everywhere,
always at its finest and easily accessible.

Stefan Trzoska
Maintenance

Before moving to Winterthur Rosa Maria Boschetti lived in
several different countries. The list of professions she has
had also testifies to her many-sided interests, which include
reading, cinema, gardening, and cooking. Since working at
the Villa Sträuli she has taken the garden particularly to
heart, seliciting from it a great variety of blooming and
beneficial plants.

Stefan Trzoska has also seen a great deal of the world.
Since settling in Winterthur twenty years ago he has worked
as a freelance carpenter. With his interest in the arts he is
often able to assist Villa Sträuli Artists-in-Residence with
the realisation of their projects. Working in concert with
Rosa Maria Boschetti he makes sure the Villa is always
in full swing.

Daniel Flachsmann Daniel Flachsmann

Chef de cuisine
Summerbistro

The Villa Sträuli’s summer bistro has a new chef: born and
bred in Winterthur, Daniel Flachsmann trained at the
restaurant Akazie. The Villa Sträuli bistro’s concept as well
as its patrons have captivated Daniel Flachsmann, and his
training has well-acquainted him with market-fresh haute
cuisine. Seizing an opportunity, this young chef will head the
Villa Sträuli’s summer bistro.

Karin Christen Karin Christen
